A SPA teenager is making a bid for stardom as she attempts to battle through to the finals of a national singing competition.
Amy Weir, of Sandles Road, has sung her way through the auditions of UK Idol 2008, to reach the regional final in November. The 15-year-old caught the eye with her performances in the competition, the largest outside of ITV’s X Factor, and she now hopes to make it through to the national final, where she would compete for a recording contract and maybe a hit single.
“I entered and was successful in getting through. This is my next step. I am very excited about it and hope to do well.”
